For more than 40 years, Collins & Company has been trusted by clients for our expert independent adjustment services, and our flexible, personalized risk management programs. We offer competitive rates and a seasoned staff with an average of 20 years’ experience each in claims management.

Headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, our regional focus means our clients receive responsive, personalized service that is hard to find with larger national corporations. Our adjusters deliberately carry low caseloads, which gives them freedom to customize a program that is right for you. We strive to meet your needs at every step. We strive to be each of our client’s long-term partner.

1969 – Collins & Company was formed in Chattanooga, Tenn., by Mr. Cecil Collins and Mrs. O.M. Collins.

1984 – Our first branch office opened in Knoxville under the management of Mr. Jim Johnston, who is now company president. In the years since, Collins & Company has opened 16 branches throughout Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky, where growth is overseen by Mr. Greg Bankston, vice president.

2006 – Collins & Company, Inc., experienced a period of regional growth with the acquisition of Pearce Claims Service of Memphis. Mr. Harris Pearce became regional vice president over all Tennessee claim offices.

Today, Collins & Company serves over 400 satisfied clients—from insurance companies and self-insured corporations to trucking services, municipalities and public utility companies. While our staff has grown over the years to 17 offices in four states, we still offer the same dedicated, individualized service we did as a two-person team.

Jim Johnston

President and CEO

Jim Johnston, a seasoned expert in claims adjusting and risk management, has been a vital part of Collins & Company for 30 years. He began his career with the firm while studying at the University of Tennessee, and after graduating Cum Laude in Chemistry, he quickly advanced from claims adjuster to manager of the Knoxville branch. With experience spanning multimillion-dollar claims, catastrophic losses, litigation, and policy development, Jim is well-versed in every facet of our services. He continues to set the benchmark for knowledgeable and dedicated client service.

With 25 years of experience in insurance adjusting and claims supervision, Greg Bankston is our company’s leading expert on claims operations. After just two years at Collins & Company, he advanced to branch manager. A former president of both the Chattanooga and Tennessee Claims Associations, Greg’s expertise ensures that our claims offices consistently uphold the highest standards of quality.
